A cabin inspired by a place we love and the feeling we wanted guests to experience when they came home from the mountain.
Mount Rainier has long been a favorite national park for us.
When the opportunity came to own a cabin near the park, we wanted more than simply a place close to the entrance. We wanted somewhere that felt like part of the Mount Rainier experience, a peaceful place surrounded by trees where the day could continue after leaving the park.
That became Hemlock Haven.
Hemlock Haven takes its name from the Western Hemlock, Washington’s state tree and a defining part of the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
The name captured what we wanted the cabin to feel like: sheltered by the forest, peaceful and distinctly connected to this part of Washington.
Privacy became such an important part of what we loved about the property that when the adjacent undeveloped lot became available, we purchased it too. We chose to keep it empty.
That extra space helps preserve the quiet, wooded setting that makes Hemlock Haven feel comfortably removed even though Mount Rainier’s Nisqually entrance is only minutes away.
That’s the feeling we want guests to have when they arrive.
We pay attention to the things that make a stay easy and comfortable: a thoughtfully equipped cabin, clear communication, useful local information and a place that feels ready for you when you walk through the door.
Hemlock Haven isn’t meant to compete with the experience of Mount Rainier. It’s meant to be the place you’re happy to come home to afterward.
